Click on an object to learn more about it.

The main part of the church is the nave, which is Latin from an ancient Greek word for ship. In this case, the ship transports the faithful from earth to Heaven. Above the nave is a dome painting of Christ Pantocrator
(all-ruling) looking down from Heaven. He is accompanied by John the Baptist, the Ever-Virgin Mary,
Theotokos (Mother of God) , and six-winged angels. Hanging from the ceiling at center is the Polyelaios,
the chandelier that represents the stars in Heaven.

To view the dome, click the polyelaios. To view the side walls, click the walls on either side of the nave. To learn more about the Sanctuary, click the image of the Virgin Mary immediately above the Royal Doors.
